Celebrated Spanish urban artist Alberto Montes has recently presented his new mural titled “Re-vision of a Granada Landscape” at Livensa Living Granada Cartuja. This piece is particularly notable as it marks Montes’ inaugural mural in the city of Granada. The mural is strategically located on the rooftop of the student residence, offering a vibrant depiction of the area’s distinctive flora such as borage, Clypeola Eriocarpa, and pomegranates.
Through a masterful blend of composition and color, emphasizing green, orange, and ochre tones, the mural encapsulates the Mediterranean landscape of Granada. Montes employs a fragmented aesthetic that harmoniously integrates with the architectural setting of the building. His goal is to stimulate reflection and enjoyment among viewers while providing an attractive backdrop for student interactions.
Born in Los Corrales, Seville, in 1995, Alberto Montes is a distinguished figure in Spain’s mural art scene. He holds a Fine Arts degree from the University of Seville and a Master’s in Interdisciplinary Production from the University of Malaga. Montes’ career has taken him across Spain, Portugal, and the United States, including prominent cities like Miami and New York. He is a recipient of a scholarship from the Antonio Gala Foundation and was awarded the XXX Madroño Awards in Madrid in 2022. His growing reputation continues to establish him as a significant contemporary artist.
The mural is the result of a collaborative effort between Livensa Living, a leading owner and operator of student residences, and Rebobinart, a company that specializes in urban art production. This mural marks the fourteenth urban art installation sponsored by Livensa Living. The project aligns with the company’s philosophy of promoting both established and emerging artists in their residences across Spain and Portugal.
