ABSTRACT

About me

I am Camilla Falsini, an artist and illustrator from Rome. My work is characterized by clear lines, stylized and minimal shapes, and strong colors, ranging from editorial illustration to large wall paintings, from design objects to books. After completing classical studies and earning a diploma in illustration at the IED in Rome, I began working as an illustrator, collaborating with Italian and foreign agencies, publishers (Einaudi, Erickson Edizioni, Rizzoli, Tea Libri, Il Saggiatore, Salani, Victionary / Hong Kong, Amaterra / France, QED / United Kingdom), companies (Samsung, Europe Assistance, Gabs, Zalando, RCS, Rai, ILIAD, Michelin, Nike, Lavazza, Glo, B&B and others), newspapers, and magazines (Vanity Fair, Interni, Corriere della Sera, La Repubblica, Il Sole 24 Ore, Rolling Stone Magazine, Washington Post). As an artist, I have created installations, large paintings, wall paintings, and sculptures for Napapjiri, Fidenza Village, ILIAD, Lavazza, UPPA, ARCI, Manifesta / Regione Sicilia, Michelin, NIKE, Eni, Municipality of Rome, Municipality of Naples, RCS, Pitti Immagine Uomo, Pfizer Animal Health, and Anas. In 2020, together with the WeAreJungle agency, I won the “Piazze Aperte” competition as part of the CLEAR project – City LivEAbility by Redesign, for the regeneration of two squares in Milan through tactical urban planning interventions. Between 2016 and 2018, I published three illustrated books: “100 CHEVALIERS” in France for Amaterra Editions; “ZOOM: The biggest circle ever” for Victionary, Hong Kong; “5 WILD SHAPES” for QED Publisher, United Kingdom, which has been published in six languages: English (UK, USA, and Canada) for QUARTO GROUP, French for GALLIMARD, Spanish and Catalan for EDEBE, Dutch for Standaard Uitgeverij NV, Italian for Gallucci Editore. I was one of the illustrators selected for the 2017 Bologna Book Fair. I have participated in many group exhibitions (including one at the Milan Triennale, two at the MACRO in Rome, and one at the MADRE in Naples) and between 2015 and 2019, I exhibited in three solo exhibitions in Ravenna, Florence, and Bologna. I was officially selected at the Bologna Children’s Book Fair in 2017. I have participated in street art festivals such as Pangrel, Murali, Subsidenze, Pop-up, ArtConventional, FRA, Arteinattesa, Live Painting, Influences, Local Art Walls, Antonio Giordano Award, Stelvio Fest, and LINK Urban Art Festival. I also took part in the MURo project, Urban Museum of Rome, and painted a large wall for the GRAArt project curated by MURo and Anas. My outdoor murals can be found in Rome, Milan, Turin, Palermo, Naples, Padua, Bormio, Brescia, Monza, Ravenna, Bologna, Viterbo, and in Molise, Marche, and Basilicata. I have also created murals for interiors, including an entire room in the Madama Hostel in Milan, in companies and offices in Rome and Milan, and in schools, playrooms, and private houses.
